RUN, WALK, CYCLE

FOR A CHILD
At the Tourette Syndrome Association we are continually
touched and inspired by children living with TS.
Some of the stories are heartbreaking as children face uncontrollable movement
and vocal tics. We see their pain as they struggle to do simple everyday things
that most people take for granted. In school where every child longs for
acceptance, they face the harshness of their peers for being different.
But in the face of adversity, these young souls often master the wisdom of
adults. They rise to overcome TS and refuse to let it define their entire
existence.
They begin to project a positive attitude on life and seek out avenues to make
an impact on the world. Some have started to teach their classmates and others
about TS in the hope of bringing awareness and an understanding of the disorder.
Others have stood up before the United States Congress and spoken to legislators
to reveal the intimate details of their lives and challenges.
When you join Team TSA, you have the option of running, walking or cycling on
behalf of one of these amazing children. If you choose to be a part of the
program, we can provide you with a picture and bio of one of these children to
use on the fundraising page you will be building online. In addition, you can
let your sponsors know you are competing on behalf of this child.
If you have a child, a family member or a friend living with TS, you can choose
to run, walk or cycle on their behalf. You will receive easy instructions on how
to build a webpage in honor of that person on our Team TSA site. You will be
able to upload a photo and write information about them or your family and use
the page to raise funds. This is the perfect opportunity to tell their story or
the story of your family dealing with TS.
