ABC News "Primetime"
to Feature Special on Tourette Syndrome

The ABC News program, “Primetime” will air an episode that features young adults with Tourette Syndrome on Tuesday, July 15
at 10:00 pm on ABC.

The hour-long program profiles four teenage girls (together with their families) and focuses on the emotional impact and both the triumphs and challenges of living with TS. Also included will be commentary from Jonathan Mink, M.D., Ph.D., Co-Chair of the
TSA Scientific Advisory Board and Associate Professor of Neurology and Chief, Child Neurology, at the University of Rochester Medical Center; and Jerome Bubrick, Ph.D., Clinical Instructor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the NYU School of Medicine, who conducts a habit reversal therapy session with a boy with TS.

Following is the program description from ABC News: "Jay Schadler goes deep inside the world of children who live with Tourette Syndrome. As the families document scenes of the daily life traumas in video diaries, they reveal the hope at the heart of a
mystery disorder that has no known cause or cure."

As always, TSA is hopeful that the program will be a responsible, accurate and sensitive representation of the disorder and of the young people who so bravely shared their personal struggles and stories to educate, raise awareness and reduce the stigma associated with TS.
